Leather is skin, and like skin it dries out. A little care twice a year keeps it soft and stops cracks before they start.
Dust weekly with a dry cloth, and wipe spills straight away with a damp one. Avoid household cleaners, which strip the natural oils.
Every six months, clean with a pH-neutral leather cleaner and follow with a conditioner. Keep pieces at least a metre from heaters and out of direct sun.
If the colour has already worn through on the arms, recolouring can bring it back without replacing the hide.
