In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is the most effective fertility treatment available today. Medication gently stimulates your ovaries to grow several eggs, which are collected in a short procedure under light sedation and fertilised in our on-site embryology laboratory.
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is a refinement of IVF in which an embryologist injects a single, carefully selected sperm into each mature egg. It is recommended when sperm count or movement is low, or when fertilisation was poor in a previous cycle.
What a typical IVF cycle involves
- A planning consultation and a written, itemised cost estimate
- Ten to twelve days of hormone injections, with nurse-led training
- Monitoring scans and blood tests at times that suit you
- Egg collection and embryo culture in our own laboratory
- Embryo transfer, freezing of extra embryos and a pregnancy test
Your nurse coordinator gives you a day-by-day calendar and is a message away throughout, so you always know what comes next.
