About

Dancer posing gracefully on stage against a black backdrop

About Mara

I started dancing at six in a draughty church hall, and I still dance like the music might stop at any moment.

Trained in classical ballet at the Royal Academy syllabus and later in contemporary technique, I spent seven seasons as a soloist before going independent in 2021. Today I split my year between company guest roles, new choreography and teaching.

My work sits where classical precision meets a looser, more personal language — clean footwork, long arms, and room to breathe between counts.
